Diversity, Equity & Inclusion committee
AILO’s newest committee ensures the promotion of diversity and inclusion for the benefit of Members, affiliates, staff and the public. AILO encourages its Members to embrace the values of diversity, inclusion and equality and seeks through its work to drive awareness of the importance and benefits of diversity and inclusion within the cross-border life insurance and wealth management industry. This committee meets up to six times a year, with working groups being established to focus on a topic of particular interest.

This committee provides information to Members on taxation issues impacting the cross-border life insurance and wealth management industry. Meeting on an ad hoc basis, the committee shares information with, and advises, AILO’s other committees on taxation matters.

This committee works with AILO’s Members to help them anticipate, negotiate and, where appropriate, participate in consultation and discussion of changes in the legal and regulatory environment in which the cross-border life industry operates. It meets four times each year and from time to time runs separate working groups to cover areas of focus, such as PRIIPS and IDD.

Proposition & Customer Outcomes committee
This committee works with AILO’s Members to help the cross-border life and wealth management industry deliver better customer outcomes. In this context, “Customer” means the person (or entity) who invests their money into a policy of insurance or similar investment structure. Areas of focus include encouraging product development(s) which aid transparency and easy customer comprehension and embracing ‘Provide-Adviser’ relationships which act in the best interests of end customers and discouraging those that undermine these core principles. It meets at least three times each year, with working groups being established to focus on a topic of particular interest.

This committee supports the promotion of AILO and its mission externally to key audiences and provides input to other committees on distribution and marketing matters. It reviews the issues that impact promotion of the cross-border and wealth management industry in general to ensure Members are kept up to date with any developments.
