Maximising Life together: Industry leaders look beyond today’s challenges at AILO CEO Summit 2026

Senior leaders from across the international Life sector came together in London to explore how collaboration, shared intelligence and collective leadership will shape the future of cross-border Life.

Held on 25 June 2026, AILO’s annual CEO Summit brought together senior executives from member organisations for a day of strategic discussion, market insight and peer collaboration. The event also marked a significant milestone for the Association, with Members approving AILO’s incorporation and ratifying the appointment of Guy Vanner as Chief Executive Officer during the Extraordinary General Meeting held alongside the Summit.

As the international Life sector continues to evolve, the Summit reflected AILO’s belief that many of the opportunities and challenges facing Members are best addressed collectively. By bringing together leaders from across jurisdictions and organisations, AILO provides a unique forum where experience can be shared, ideas challenged and the future of the sector explored.

The programme covered many of the issues shaping today’s business environment, including the practical application of Artificial Intelligence, the global investment outlook, the future direction of financial advice and AILO’s own strategic developments for Members.

Closing the Summit, incoming CEO Guy Vanner reflected on the remarkable journey of the cross-border Life sector over the past three decades.

He described an industry that has evolved from a fragmented and often misunderstood marketplace into a mature, professional ecosystem built on expertise, collaboration and a commitment to customer-focused best practice. He also recognised the important role AILO has played in that evolution by helping Members raise standards, share intelligence and engage constructively with regulators and other stakeholders.

Looking ahead, Guy highlighted that demographic change, increasing international mobility and evolving tax and regulatory environments will continue to create demand for specialist cross-border solutions. Meeting those needs, he said, will depend not only on strong organisations but on well-informed professionals supported by education, insight and collaboration across the industry.

Commenting after the event, Guy Vanner said:

Guy added that his ambition is for AILO to continue evolving as a member-owned organisation that enables best practice through collaboration, practical support and shared expertise, ensuring Members have the resources they need to succeed in an increasingly complex environment.

Outgoing CEO Bob Pain, who chaired his final CEO Summit before retiring later this summer, reflected on the importance of creating opportunities for senior leaders to come together.

As AILO enters a new chapter under Guy Vanner’s leadership, the message from this year’s CEO Summit was clear: the future of cross-border Life will not be shaped by organisations working alone, but by a sector that continues to share knowledge, raise standards and collaborate for the benefit of Members, customers and the wider international Life community.
